Through
our special relationship with Jack Vettrianowe have hosted
two events with personal appearances by Jack Vettrianoat our Gallery in 2000 and 2002. Both events have
featured booksignings of the book "Lovers & Other
Strangers" and Exhibitions of Jack Vettriano's
limited edition silkscreen images. A highlight
of the event in 2002 featured an 'on the couch'
style interview with BBC's Scottish Newsnight presenter
Anne Mackenzie, in which Jack Vettrianochatted
openly about his life and his art.
Both
event s attracted big media interest and led
to the nomination of
a National Sales award run by the Fine Art Trade
Guild, of which we are a member.
In
the same year Jack Vettrianowas also awarded
the prestigious "Artist
of the Year" award by the Fine Art Trade Guild
in London.
"Silk & Seduction's
Director, Mark Gask is also a known specialist
on Jack Vettrianoand has given lectures and
TV interviews about Jack Vettriano, his life
and work. The most recent lecture was given at
Duff House, National Galleries of Scotland in
Banff, North of Scotland in the Autumn of 2003.
If you are visiting
our gallery, in addition to the new collection
of silkscreen images, you will have the opportunity
to see items of memorabilia and props featured
in some of Jack Vettriano's images.
